First Standard Hybrid Pickup
Ford does it again and is offering America’s first and only standard full hybrid truck and it starts at just $19,995. That makes it not only the first truck but the lowest price hybrid available today. It is estimated that each tank of gas will get you an average of 500 miles. An entire new generation of Americans are about to appreciate the family of Ford trucks for all new reasons. This truck provides an entire world of possibilities with purposeful design called Flexbed in the bed of the Maverick. Flexbed provides multi-position dividers and slots that allow for safe and secure transport. It’s just a guess but we are sure that Oregonians will love the Maverick for its flexibility. Pivot from a DIY home project to an outdoor adventure in no time.
First Edition Package Ford Maverick
Ford is so excited about this addition to the truck family it created a special edition package to celebrate. The First Edition Package is only available with the Lariat trim. If you have chosen the hybrid power train the package includes a black painted roof and 18″ black painted wheels. If you have chosen the 2.0L engine paired with the All Wheel Drive functionality you will receive 17″ black painted wheels. When you choose to include the First Edition package you will enjoy a spray-in bed liner and tie downs and locking rails in addition to the power outlets in the truck bed. You might think this is silly at first but Contractors are really enjoying the outlets on the equipped F-150 trucks. If you are planning on choosing the soft tonneau cover and moon roof, take a closer look at this Maverick upgrade because they are included too.

How big is the fuel tank on the Maverick?
The all new 2022 Maverick is available as a hybrid as well as a full gasoline version. The fuel tank on the hybrid Maverick is 13.8 gallons. The Ford electronic brake boost on the hybrid helps to capture energy that is lost when braking a traditional vehicle. Recapturing your braking energy may not appear substantial at first but we can attest it adds up quickly. Especially for those who regularly drive in traffic the brake boost technology cuts your fuel bill greatly.

What are the cab options for the Maverick?
The All new Ford Maverick comes exclusively in a full four door Crew Cab configuration paired with a 4.5ft bed. The Crew Cab seat five adults with ample room. The drivers and front passenger seats are bucket seats. The rear seat is a bench seat with useful under the seat storage.
What engines are available?
Two engines are available on the newest addition to the Ford truck family. The first is the 2.5L Atkinson four cylinder hybrid engine. With an estimated 500 mile range and estimated combined 37 MPG this choice is a game changer. The gas engine kicks in at higher speeds or when the truck is in need of a power boost. With 191 horsepower it’s capable and ready for whatever your day brings.
The second option when purchasing a new Maverick is the 2.0L Eco-Boost four cylinder engine that produces 250 horsepower with an eight speed transmission. You will also be provided with the choice of front or all wheel drive with this engine configuration. The two liter engine with AWD capability can tow up to 4,000 pounds. Paired with a payload of 1,500 pounds you can accomplish everything on your to-do list.
What is the FX4 Package on the Maverick?
When you choose the All Wheel Drive Maverick you have the option of upgrading to the FX4 package. This includes all terrain tires, skid plates, and Hill Descent Control. This is a great upgrade option if your lifestyle takes you off road to rough roads. Front tow hooks and an integrated trailer hitch receiver in the back help streamline your trips. Not into chrome? The FX4 package comes with 17″ black painted aluminum wheels.

1st Annual “Cruisin’ with the Cops” Car Show
Cars and Prizes will abound. Gresham Ford loves car shows as much as anyone. The Gresham Police Officers’ Association has been thinking along the same lines. Creating a new event is a large feat especially in the middle of a pandemic resurgence.

What could be better? Who doesn’t love cars and who doesn’t love winning prizes? Well, you can get your share of both, Sunday, September 12 from 9am – 2pm at the K-Mart Parking lot, 440 NW Burnside, Gresham.
The Gresham Police Officers’ Association is holding their 1st Annual “Cruisin’ with the Cops” Car Show and Silent Auction. Presented by the Association Fords of the 50’s Car Club, they’ll have every variety of antique, custom, vintage and classic model. This will be a great opportunity to see a wide variety of automotive history. We may even see motorcycles and trucks added to the mix. Something for everyone and the kids will love it too.
Silent Auction
There will be a silent auction and a 50/50 drawing that you won’t want to miss There’s a Traeger 575 Series, donated by Burns Feed and Gresham Ford. Burns Feed threw in some extra accessories too. You’ll definitely want to get involved . And for your favorite little person, a Power Wheels Ford F150 Raptor Ride on Truck. Now that’s worth bidding on. Not to mention all the other amazing items to be auctioned but you’ll have to take a short trip to the K-Mart parking lot to see them all.

The 2021 Cruisin’ with the Cops is benefiting the Shriners Hospital for Children and the Oregon Special Olympics. These are the two charities that the Gresham area Police have supported to the best of our memory. You can ask for your tithe donation go to either of these non-profits on behalf of the Police Association.

2021 Peanut Butter Drive Results
Ford Dealers in the NW region raised 54,642 pounds of peanut butter amidst the challenges of covid. Robberson Ford located in Bend Oregon did a fantastic job, raising over 14,620 pounds on their own. Here at Gresham Ford we raised a bit over 2,000 pounds of peanut butter to help end childhood hunger in the Gresham Area.
Many may think of Car Dealers as sleazy polyester wearing individuals who start and end the day working to take advantage of their fellow humans. Gresham Ford is and has been different for decades. Originally McRobert Motor Company, Gresham Ford has supported the community and worked to make the community better and stronger. In 2004, Bess Wills took the reins of the new car dealership. Early on she heard about the community involvement and contributions of Gussie McRobert and her husband Chet. Gussie embraced the Dealer with a Heart moniker with her entire being.
“Bess has loved the history of the dealership from the beginning. Early on she told me that she wanted to find a way to help support non-profits and the community and gain their supporters as customers. Spending money on TV ads, or big display ads in expensive newspapers has never been on the table. The Contribute to the Community program has allowed us to support non-profits as we serve their supporters automotive needs. It makes our community better and stronger too, ” shared Annette Freetage, Marketing Director.
The 2021 Ford Peanut Butter Drive has been no different than any of the other food drives or community events for this powerhouse team. Gresham Ford has worked with the local Gresham area food bank, Snow Cap Community Charities for a number of years with their Fill-A-Bag annual food drive over the holidays. Snow Cap is well aware of the childhood hunger crisis in the Gresham area and was ecstatic to have another 2,000 pounds of peanut butter to share with the community.
Peanut Butter is a great choice for food drives and families alike.
Peanut butter is good for you and packed with protein. The Northwest Ford Dealers association formed the food drive around peanut butter after community leaders shared that childhood hunger was the overwhelming challenge in many Oregon and Washington communities.

Ford recently received a much awaited supply of semiconductor chips for use in newly built Ford vehicles. The Ford chip shortage created new and unforeseen pandemic challenges. Oregon Ford Dealers have been experiencing dwindling inventory with the absence of new vehicles from Ford Motor Company. Car and Driver recently shared that even with the Ford Chip shortage F-Series sales are only down 1.5% for the entire year. Clearly the best selling trucks in America are still popular.
Why did Ford having a chip shortage?
Many potential car buyers have received a crash course in automotive supply chain management during the pandemic. In a nutshell, when the lock down began it forced many people into and deeper into virtual meetings, schooling, and recreation. So many people bought laptops and other personal electronics. That coupled with the slow down and pause at many Ford production facilities slowed the supply chain. Semiconductor chips are manufactured in Asia for the large part. Many of the Asian production facilities continued work as usual while America locked down and took pause in attempts to stop CoVid. As a result the Asian chip producers committed to sending chips to personal electronics manufacturers instead of Ford Motor Company.
It has taken longer than expected to re-establish an appropriate level of chip production for Ford Motor Company. But the wait is over. Ford Motor Company has solidified it’s supply chain and is ready to ramp up production in order to meet the increased popularity of F-Series trucks, the new Bronco SUV and Sport, as well as the Maverick.

All Ford Broncos that are being delivered to dealerships are custom orders. This first round of vehicles are all the four door Bronco models. Ford Bronco production is underway
The Ford Motor Company Michigan Assembly Plant is fully underway making the two and four door Ford Bronco. After a 25 year hiatus the Ford Bronco is returning to Ford Dealership showrooms across America. In Oregon they aren’t staying on the showroom long. Almost all Broncos delivered to Oregon Ford Dealers are custom ordered vehicles that are quickly scooped up by their ordering drivers. The one exception is the demonstrator vehicle. This SUV provides those of us who weren’t ready to jump into a reservation a chance to kick the tires and see a Bronco up close and personal before taking the plunge.
