How it Works
The program offers Oregon residents the opportunity to get a discount when they purchase an electric vehicle. This is different than the tax credits offers that gained so much press previously. The Oregon Clean Vehicle Rebate Program offers you a cash rebate when you purchase the vehicle. Vehicles must be purchased or leased from a participating certified dealership, like Gresham Ford. There are three options when choosing to participate in the DEQ program that strives to reduce the amount of auto emissions in Oregon.
Standard Rebate
Oregon residents, businesses, non-profits, and government agencies are all eligible to take advantage of this rebate program. This option requires the purchase of a new battery electric vehicle or plug-in hybrid vehicles with a base MSRP under $50,000. Electric motorcycles are also eligible. There is no income requirement with the standard rebate. However, the rebate amount does differ based on the type of electric vehicle you choose to purchase.
- $750 for zero emission motorcycles
- $1,500 for battery electric vehicles under 10 kWH
- $2,500 for battery electric vehicles with over 10 kWH
Applications must be submitted within six months following the purchase or lease initiation date. If you choose to visit a certified dealership, like Gresham Ford, we will even do the paperwork for you. Otherwise you will need to complete the online application and mail it to the Center for Sustainable Energy, Oregon Clean Vehicle Rebate Program, 3980 Sherman Street, Suite 170, San Diego, CA 92110.
Charge Ahead Rebate
This rebate offer is also available to Oregon residents. This rebate is open to new as well as used battery electric vehicles and plug-in hybrid electric vehicles with an original MSRP under $50,000. This option does have an income eligibility requirement. If your income exceeds 120% of area median income you will not be eligible for this option. For clarification please see the Income Eligibility Calculator provided by the State of Oregon. You will be asked to provide proof of income to confirm eligibility when applying for the Charge Ahead Rebate option. Again if you choose to purchase your electric vehicle from Gresham Ford we will help apply for your rebate. Otherwise you will need to complete the online application and mail it to the Center for Sustainable Energy, Oregon Clean Vehicle Rebate Program, 3980 Sherman Street, Suite 170, San Diego, CA 92110.
Standard + Charge Ahead Rebate
This rebate is open to Oregon residents who purchase a new battery electric vehicle or plug-in hybrid electric vehicle with a base MSRP under $50,000. You will also been required to not exceed 120% of area median income as referenced above. In these cases there are two rebate amounts possible to receive.
- $4,000 for a electric vehicle with a battery under 10 kWH
- $5,000 for an electric vehicle with a battery of 10 kWH or larger
Eligible Ford Vehicles
Gresham Ford currently offers two vehicles that qualify for the above rebates. First is the all new 2021 Ford Mustang Mach E for $2,500. The second eligible Ford vehicle is the Ford Fusion Energi Plug-In Hybrid with a $1,500 Clean Vehicle Rebate.
