One of the best tag lines for “shopping local” is, “the job you save may be your neighbors”!   So, we thought we would look for ways to “help local”.   We are sure you have many more so share them with us, your family, and of course, your friends and neighbors…

Ways You Can Shop Local and Support  Gresham Businesses

  1.  Remember that local salons, personal services, and care providers have gift cards that can be purchased and sometimes they even provide you extra savings.   This may be extremely helpful for businesses that are just struggling to get back on their feet.
  2. Buy from local retailers that feature products made locally or in our region. Our planet will be greener because of you.  My reading glasses have moss from Oregon embedded in the frames!
  3. Beer and wine are always great gifts and fun to taste too but be sure they are made by fellow Oregonians or in the Northwest!
  4. When you are going up and down the grocery aisle pay special attention -many stores put tags on locally grown products and visit local Farmer’s Markets for the freshest and best produce.
  5. There is good, better and best when you buy our coffee. Good to buy local, better to buy from an Oregon roaster and best to buy from a locally owned and operated shop.
  6. While Amazon can be convenient-try calling local retailers and see if they have a “ship to” or delivery option.
  7. As grandma said you can never have too much Insurance but making sure the people/company you buy from is local can come in handy when you have a claim.
  8. Your home and garden will love the attention and free advice from local nurseries and home improvement centers. Much more fun than chatting online!
  9. Your passion for giving can make your heart smile when you see local charities make a difference right here in your community.
  10. And simply when you do shop local and find a great restaurant or other treasurers, be sure to write a glowing review.   2020 has presented many struggles so giving a pat on the back to someone or some business will make all the difference!
