Ford Motor Company has always stepped up to help in times of need.  Ford engineers and researchers immediately developed masks and ventilators to help combat COVID-19 and at Ford Fund, they worked in concert with the company-taking immediate action at the local level and concentrating on the most critical issues facing communities throughout the country and around the world.

Ford Motor Company’s charitable arm is the Ford Motor Company Fund, or Ford Fund.  For more than 70 years, Ford Fund’s corporate philanthropy has been focused on enriching community life and making people’s lives better. If you’d like more information regarding this amazing charitable arm of the Ford Motor Company, please visit FordFund.org.

Here are a couple of quick actions taken by the Ford Fund to direct resources and support communities:

  • The COVID-19 Donation Match was a combined effort between Ford Fund and Bill Ford that matched up to $500,000 in donations to designated communities fighting COVID-19 in more than 20 countries.
  • This donation match began in early April and concluded on July 31, 2020, and the effort gave more than $1 million to community organizations around the world.
  • As schools shut their doors and went to remote learning, a digital video library was created by Ford employee volunteers who read children’s books in their own language for children and families to listen to while at home.

So, you see, while Ford makes some of the best vehicles on the planet, they’re about so much more than just cars!  As Henry Ford himself once said, “A business that makes nothing but money is a poor business.”  Have you driven a Ford lately?
