Feb 2, 2021

In our world, there’s lots of talk about goats.  Let me clarify.   Well, as we all know, Tom Brady is going to the super bowl with a new team. So, in many eyes, he is the “Greatest of All Time”, GOAT for short.  He has raised the bar for all over 40.   I wish him well but love the history and determination of Kansas City so I’m a little conflicted on the outcome of the game.

However, there is one thing I am not the least conflicted about – that Ford has just made the best commercial ever.   Better than the cute Dalmatian puppy in Budweiser Commercial and more appropriate to the brand than the Clydesdales playing football in the Super Bowl Ad.  You must take a look – just google “2021 Ford Bronco Sport Raised by Goats”.

If this little Colt “Raised by Goats” (real goats) that becomes a Bronco doesn’t bring a tear to your eye, make you laugh and then make you want to get out and drive a new 2021 Bronco Sport with “Go Over All Terrains” GOAT modes in less than 60 seconds, call me (I just want to check that you are breathing).

The new 2021 Bronco Sport is all of the above! GREATEST OF ALL TIME, GO OVER ALL TERRAINS, AND SO POWERFUL AND STRONG OFF ROAD THERE HAS TO BE A LITTLE REAL MOUNTAIN GOAT IN ITS DNA.

So, this weekend, when you are NOT having a Super Bowl party – google this ad, send it to all your virtual friends and see if they agree.  This commercial is the GOAT – “Greatest of All Time”.

The Bronco Sport is a name that stands for Off Road adventure.  You need that if you live in Oregon and like the outdoors.  There are so many mud slides, changing terrain and rough roads to navigate in the northwest.

Available Engine and Transmission Packages

The Bronco Sport offers two EcoBoost engines for your choice.  First is the 1.5L EcoBoost inline three cylinder engine that has been paired with a 8-speed automatic transmission.  This engine comes standard in the base trim model as well as the Big Bend, and Outer Banks trim packages.

The second option is a 2.0L EcoBoost engine with an inline four cylinder engine that has been coupled with an eight speed select shift automatic transmission.  This engine is standard equipment in the Badlands edition Bronco Sport.

Bronco Sport Capability

The GOAT nickname does not come easily.  The advanced 4X4 system with twin clutch rear drive on the Badlands trim models provide independent wheel control.  This allows the Bronco to be propelled by a single rear wheel even if it’s partner has zero traction.  You guessed right, this comes in handy when exploring off-road adventures.  Up until now you had to visit a aftermarket auto mechanic in order to get this kind of capability on your vehicle.  This is why Off-Road enthusiatists are going crazy for the Bronco and the Bronco Sport.

The continuously variable torque delivered to the wheels can even be split between the axles for increased control.  Going over any terrain has been tested and retested.  Ford has even included multiple bash plates to help ensure the undercarriage of your vehicle stays safe during all this fun too.  Being purpose built has been a long-time Ford motivation and the Ford Bronco Sport is no different.

4 X 4 System

There are two systems offered by Ford on the Bronco Sport.  The standard 4X4 system and the Badlands 4 X 4 System.

Standard 4X4 on the Bronco Sport

This system functions without any driver input.  However, it is emensely capable and can transfer up to 100% of torque to the rear wheels.  The onboard computer measures the grip, speed, and feedback of each wheel many times a second.  This information is how the vehicle determines when and to what degree to transfer torque.  This is also the system that makes it virtually impossible to burn your wheels at a stop light.  This is the option that is recommended for the large majority of the population and will serve you well.

Badlands Edition 4X4 System

This is the advanced 4X4 system that includes a twin clutch rear drive system that uses 2 clutch packs in order to control each of the rear wheels independently.  This allows superior grip and performance in low-traction situations.  Also know as a rear differiential lock, this can be a huge benefit if you like to get yourself into sticky situations when driving off-road without a tow line or a buddy.

This system works in tandem with the GOAT modes that is included in the standard system.  The upgraded Badlands 4X4 system experiences even more agility of loose terrian becuase of the added hardware and equipment.  There is also a disconnect feature included that disables the rear driveline when 4X4 is simply not needed.
