Dec 5, 2022

Wow, December has arrived already! What happened to the year? I appreciate everyone who participated in Fill-A-Bag this year. The need to assist persons on fixed incomes has increased as a result of recent inflation. Recently, as I was checking my goods at the register, I was astonished to see that a loaf of bread cost more than $6.00. (a brand produced locally-yes, it is important to shop local). Although my husband and I are fortunate to be living alone and able to absorb some of these hikes, we have a great deal of compassion for elderly and families with young children who are living on fixed incomes.

The good news is that there are ways to contribute that you and your family will enjoy. See a list of the activities that will benefit SnowCap at https://www.snowcap.org/fill-a-bag.html. On December 8th, Biscuits Cafe will be selling a lot of cinnamon rolls, with the money going to Fill-A-Bag. On December 10 from 11 to 1, the Mt. Hood Mustang Club will have a fantastic exhibit at Office Depot and take pictures with the big guy. The next week, Riverview Bank will offer drive-through drop off. There will be some amusing free gift vouchers to nearby establishments waiting for the first drop-offers.

Fill-A-Bag this Holiday Season

Local businesses contribute to our community every day, not just around the holidays. Take extra care this holiday season to attempt to shop locally so that your money stays local. These companies will support local scholarships, minor leagues, and a whole lot more. Fill-A-Bag has proven to be the largest food drive for SnowCap Communities Charities annually.  Your support and participation are greatly appreciated.  Please keep in mind that you are welcome to empty your pantry and donate any non-perishable items to Gresham Ford or Riverview Bank.
