While the ST and ST-Line has gotten a lot of press for it’s performance inspired features and design. The newly released Timberline trim package was designed for the off-road nature loving kind of Ford owners. This Explorer is truly capable of going off-road, allowing you to pursue trails across the northwest.

How much is the Ford Explorer Timberline?

What is standard on the Explorer Timberline?

The engine that is going to take you to all your off-road adventures is the tested and proven 2.3L Eco-boost engine that provides 300 horsepower along with 310 pound feet of torque. Torque comes in handing when avoiding getting stuck in mud ruts and passing over rocks and debris on back-roads across Oregon and SW Washington. The 18″ wheels have been paired with Bridgestone All-Terrain Tires with a unique laser-etched Timberline logo, steel skid plate, and increased ground clearance help provide the traction you need to make it off-road. This family SUV truly has been purpose built for your off-road adventures with the family.

Not only will the off-road Explorer take you on adventures it can pull your trailer and toys too. With a 5,300 pound towing capacity this class four trailer tow package comes standard with the Timberline trim, making this trim well worth the money. The Intelligent 4WD system and off-road front struts and rear shocks will provide even the most inexperienced off-roader peace of mind and security. Hill Control Descent was introduced by Ford a few years back with the Ford CoPilot 360 Technology package. Essentially it is a cruise control system that utilizes the traction control power provided by the anti-lock brakes. It helps keep your vehicle under control while going downhill, no matter the angel of your descent.
