Great article in the “Outlook” recently about volunteers in our community!!    Humble hard working volunteers are the backbone of great communities!!  So many volunteers, so many needs.   If you have been inspired by the stories of these local heroes -here are some opportunities for you to do good and make some new friends!

Barn Exhibit Hall Painting:  After 12 years it is time to repaint the red barn in Troutdale.  Ethan Holmes has chosen to paint the Barn to earn his Eagle Scout rank for the Boy Scouts of America.   They are honored by his help but they need a few more hands and ladders.   On August 3rd there will be a one day event to accomplish the job.  All paint supplies will be provided.  Put on your paint clothes and give them a hand.  If you can help please e-mail Ethan Holmes emholmes03@gmail.com – give your name and contact info with the number of hours you are able to work.

The Main City Park and Tsuru Island could always use some extra volunteers.  Garden volunteer day is every Saturday 9 a.m. until noon year around, rain or shine.  Just show up there is always something to do!  And if gardening is not your thing talk to them about volunteering for some office work.

SnowCap and My Father’s House are two local non-profits that could always use some extra hands especially in the summer when lots of folks are on vacation.   The needs seem to never take a break!

Thank you all – you make a difference!
