Mustang Mach1 ReturnsWith 480 horsepower the limited-edition Mach 1 will be hard to beat with a 5.0 V8 track-ready performance.  The classic aggressive styling remains but the technology is the next level. Available in both a six-speed manual transmission or 10-speed automatic transmission both provide unparalleled control and handling no matter where the day takes you.  New front fascia and grille provides improved cooling and aerodynamics but maintains the muscle car vibe.

The New Mach 1 Muscle

The Mach 1 Mustang has come a long way since Henry Ford began his quest for speed in 1901.  In 1969, the Mach 1 set records for both speed and endurance.  With an all-new front end, the new Mach 1 has new and better at limit handling.  The Ford Engineers have bestowed a 5.0L V8 engine to the Mach 1.  Providing a projected 480 horsepower at 7,000 rpm and 420-pound feet of torque at just 4600 rpm this Mustang is earning its nameplate.  This all-new version has been built on decades of lessons and successes from the Ford Performance team.

Mach 1 Rendering from Ford

Mach 1 comes standard with a Tremec 6-speed manual transmission from the Shelby GT350. For the first time, Ford has outfitted the system with rev-matching, and the transmission is paired with the GT350 oil cooler system and Mustang GT’s twin-disc clutch and a short-throw shifter.  A second air to oil cooler increases cooling capacity by almost seventy-five percent.

The Style of the Mustang Mach 1

The new grill is consistent with the original Mach 1 styling but has refreshed the design with a deep 3-d mesh that cuts through the air.  You will also notice the low gloss accents throughout the Mustang. Starting with the low gloss Pony badging and continued with the premium styling of the side mirrors and spoiler on the rear deck.

Satin Black side and hood stripes are included with reflective accent stripes in any of three colors: Red, White, and Orange (Appearance Package only). Exterior color options include the Mach 1 exclusive Fighter Jet Gray (Appearance Package only), as well as Iconic Silver, Shadow Black, Oxford White, Velocity Blue, Twister Orange, Race Red, and Grabber Yellow.

The Mach 1 interior features a unique Dark Spindrift instrument panel with aluminum accents. Its ebony black seats include an accent stripe hint. Other interior upgrades include new door sill plates, an updated splash screen on the 12.3-inch all-LCD instrument cluster, a white cue ball shift knob, and engraved badging that displays the vehicle’s unique chassis number.
