Growing up “land rich and dirt poor” on her grandparents’ farm instilled Bess with a passion for caring for others. When she came to Gresham Ford, she made it her goal to improve the fabric of the community, not just through how she operated her dealership but through direct involvement with the people of Gresham, whom she came to love.
The causes that matter to her customers matter to her.
She understood that more people were in need and there were more opportunities to help than any single person could possibly know. She started the Contribute to the Community program so customers could direct her charitable giving to where it could do the most good.
How You Can Support Your Community
Bess will donate -
- $100 for every vehicle purchased
and
- 10% of the cost of service work, parts, and labor, up to $100
The only catch is that donations must be requested; they are not given automatically. Otherwise, it might be perceived that the donation is included in the price. Bess is adamant that every customer receives the best price possible, and all donations come directly from her pocket.
From 2012 to 2025, the Contribute to the Community program sent 1,625 checks to nonprofit organizations, amounting to $121,776.01 — all because someone asked.
