How to custom order a car from Ford?

Any Ford Dealership across America is authorized to accept vehicle orders. Facilitating the sale and distribution of Ford vehicles is what Ford Dealers do. We have heard from some customers that Ford Dealers have declined to accept their orders or recognize their X-Plan Pricing. Gresham Ford is happy to accept vehicle orders and honor X-Plan pricing as well as private offer rebates like Military Appreciation, College Graduate/Student, First Responder, etc. Please feel free to Contact Us with any questions, special requests, or concerns. What is the Ford Factory Order Process?

Again our team is happy to expand and clarify any portion of the process. Just ask!

• Submit your inquiry to Gresham Ford
• Pay your Custom Order Deposit
• Meet with a Gresham Ford Sales Manager to choose your features and finalize order
• Gresham Ford submits the order to Ford Motor Company
• Ford Motor Company updates all Ford Dealers weekly on the expected production schedule and Gresham Ford updates custom order customers accordingly
• Approximately 15 days prior to the build begining Ford Motor Company will assign a VIN (Vehicle Identification Number) to the custom order
• Most vehicles complete production within two to three weeks
• Gresham Ford is next updated when one of its custom ordered vehicles arrives and is assigned a railcar for the journey to the Portland area
• When the vehicle arrives at the railcar, Gresham Ford is again sent an alert and can forward that on if you wish
• Transport trucks are then tasked with the job of bringing the newly built Ford vehicles to Gresham Ford
• Once the new vehicles arrive at Gresham Ford they are checked in by the Ford Service Center Foreman to ensure there is no transport damage
• Next, each vehicle must complete a Pre-Delivery Inspection to ensure they have been built to the ordered specifications
• Lastly, each vehicle is washed and protective covers are removed

Once everything has been verified, cleaned, and prepared you will hear from your Sales and Leasing Professional to set a delivery appointment that best fits your schedule. Again please reach out to us with any questions or needs for clarification.

How long does it take to order a car from Ford?

Order and production times vary for each model. Different trim lines can also vary greatly. Ford Motor Company updates production timeline estimates on a weekly basis. This is also the method used to communicate any delays that relate to specific features. If your order has not yet been assigned a VIN, there is often the opportunity to alter some aspects of your order. This versatility can help to avoid lengthly delays. Ford works with a large variety of vendors in order to source the parts that come together to create the Built Ford Tough vehicles you have come to love. While we are not able to control the vendors utilized by Ford or the production pipeline, we can keep you updated and will assist you in pivoting if you choose. How to track your order from the Ford factory?

Prior to be assigned a VIN, your custom order progress will be communicated directly from Gresham Ford. However, once your order is assigned a VIN you can utilize the new Ford Vehicle Order Tracking webpage. This visability will tell you where your vehicle is in the production process and where it is in the transportation process. More specific details can be achieved through communications with your ordering Ford Dealership like Gresham Ford.
