It’s time again for the annual Ford Peanut Butter Drive at Gresham Ford. For those of us that grew up in the past generations, wondering where our next meal was coming from was never something we really even had to think about. For me anyway, mom was always there with lunch on the ready at noon on the dot. But for a lot of kids these days, mom is working two jobs and still the cupboards are bare. Sadly for many, this is a daily reality during the summer months especially.
Gresham Ford and Ford Motor Company have understood this problem and, while it’s not a fix all, end all, supplying peanut butter through the summer for these kids, can add that extra little bit to help them through. The national Ford Peanut Butter Drive is generally for the month of May, but here at Gresham Ford, we will be collecting peanut butter from May 1st through a big wrap up at the Gresham Arts Festival, July 20th.
The peanut butter donations we collect here at the dealership will benefit our local SnowCap Community Charities who are instrumental in providing food, clothing, advocacy and other services to our East County neighbors that seem to have more month at the end of the money. The annual Ford Peanut Butter Drive has collected over 180,000 lbs. of peanut butter since it’s launch in 2014. The 2019 Ford Peanut Butter Drive is part of a broader partnership between Ford, Ford dealers and food banks to eliminate child hunger. Started in 2013, the Ford Focus on Child Hunger has provided over 3 million meals and snacks to hungry kids in the Pacific Northwest. You can help by donating your peanut butter at Gresham Ford or the Gresham Quick Lane.
And don’t forget the Gresham Ford Contribute to the Community Program. When you purchase any new or used vehicle we will donate $100 to the charity of your choice. When you service your vehicle we will donate 10% (up to $100) of your invoice to the charity of your choice. This is a great way to remember those non-profits that make our communities stronger while going about your daily business. And Gresham Ford loves to help support too!
