This is a two year Associate of Applied Science degree that provides the building blocks to provide technically competent professional diesel service technicians. The career outlook is positive with ever growing complexities providing an ever growing need for highly trained technicians. Gresham Ford has chosen to participate in the ASSET program. As a Oregon Ford Dealer sponsor students shadow existing Diesel Mechanics and act as an apprentice for at least 12 months.

Even following the Associates of Applied Science degree, Diesel Technicians must maintain their training and education through manufacturer and vendor classes and meetings. Some Diesel Mechanics choose to go the extra mile and do all the training that is available.
